When and where do I need to check-in?
Check In: 30 minutes before departure Check in Location: 1666 Duranleau St (Granville Island). The tour will depart from Prince of Whales Adventure Center located on Granville Island in Vancouver, next to Ten Thousand Villages store, opposite the yellow building of Bridges restaurant.
Can I store my belongings somewhere safe during the tour?
Backpacks, purses and other personal belongings can be stored in locked storage bins on shore during the tour.
What should I wear?
Please dress warmly. Wear closed toe shoes, long pants, warm sweater and a jacket that will block the wind. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and a plastic bag to protect your electronics. You may get wet.
Will I see Whales on this tour?
No, this is a city sightseeing adventure and it DOES NOT include whale watching. Vancouver, however, is home to a variety of birds and sea mammals and we may occasionally see dolphins, harbor seals, bald eagles, and other sea birds during adventures.
Are there bathrooms on the Zodiacs?
No, the RHIBs are open-air boats, and therefore do not have washrooms on board. We recommend that you use the public washrooms (located next to our office) before your departure.
Can pregnant people go on the tour?
Due to the nature of the RHIB boat, pregnant individuals are unable to join our Zodiac tours.
What is the cancellation policy?
The Sea Vancouver cancellation policy states that “all cancellations made after 48 hours or ‘no-shows’ will be subject to the full charge of the fare.”
Are strollers and other large items allowed?
Strollers are not allowed onboard. Larger items can be stored in the Sea Vancouver/Prince of Whales office on shore during the tour.
Are there restrictions on these tours?
Zodiac vessels are not suitable for anyone with a history of serious medical conditions including but not limited to; current neck, back, spinal injuries/conditions, recent surgery, and/or current or suspected pregnancy. Any passengers with the aforementioned will be turned away due to safety risks. There is also a minimum height restriction of 120 cm (4 ft) and the minimum weight required is 23 kg (50 lbs) – this typically applies to children under 7 years old. The maximum weight is 159 kgs (350 lbs). For safety reasons, all passengers must be able to board and disembark independently, as assistance during these processes could pose significant safety risks.
What is the capacity per vessel?
Zodiac's can hold up to 12 passengers.
